Honey Bee Weddings

I started Honey Bee Weddings based on my fascination with weddings. My introduction to weddings began at the early age of 5, when I acted as a flower girl. I took my duties so seriously that my services were requested by the Maid of Honor for her own wedding two weeks later.

My experience in event planning began while I worked at a non-profit in 2001. My experience includes putting together board meetings, silent auctions, cocktail receptions, international group travel and volunteer events. During this time, I was successfully coordinating many events for my friends and family. I realized that weddings were my passion and decided to launch my own firm. My vision came to life within a few months from its conception and has been steadily growing. I have served at a wedding coordinator for many different types of weddings.

My first wedding was held on the family’s bison ranch in Kansas. My duties included coordinating the arrival of a plane so that the newly wedding couple could jet off to their honeymoon. I worked closely with the bride and groom to make sure that every detail is incorporated. My personal goal is for the bride and groom to enjoy their day and not think about the logistics and details.

I hold a bachelor degree in Anthropology as well as an MBA from Loyola University Chicago. I reside in Noble Square with my husband, Denton. We were married in downtown Chicago on May 17th, 2008.
